Before you connect

Can I use my existing WhatsApp number?

You need a WhatsApp Business Platform sender approved in Twilio. A number registered only in the mobile app is not connected to this service. Follow Twilio’s migration steps before moving it; do not remove an app account until you are ready.

What counts as a conversation?

One contact on one connected number starts a 24-hour conversation window. New messages in that window count together. Each window supports up to 80 AI replies. When your monthly allowance is exhausted, messages remain in the inbox for your team.

Can the team reply whenever it wants?

Your team can reply inside WhatsApp’s 24-hour customer service window after the customer’s latest message. This release handles customer-initiated chats; it does not send marketing broadcasts.

Are telephone minutes included?

WhatsApp plans and telephone subscriptions are separate. You can use either product on its own or use both in the same account.

What happens to conversations and attachments?

Conversations and attachments are stored with restricted access in your workspace to handle customer enquiries. As the responsible business, you determine which data are still needed for that purpose. Our support team assists with deletion or export instructions; statutory retention obligations and data subject rights remain applicable. Voice messages are transcribed through Soniox in the EU.
