Art. 50 AI Act

AI transparency

Version: September 2026

Courtesy translation. The legally binding version is the German original: AI transparency (German original).

rylivo uses artificial intelligence systems for spoken interaction over the telephone. With this statement we inform callers, customers and prospective customers about the use of these systems pursuant to Art. 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the „AI Act“).

1. What the AI assistant does

The rylivo assistant answers calls for connected businesses when nobody there can pick up. It conducts the conversation as a spoken dialogue: it greets the caller with the name of the business, answers standard questions on the basis of the information the business has provided, and records callback and appointment requests. AI systems for speech recognition, language processing (a language model) and speech synthesis are used for this.

2. Disclosure at the start of the call

Every call begins with a clear notice that an AI assistant is speaking, and with a notice that the conversation is recorded and transcribed in order to process it. Callers therefore know from the outset that they are not speaking to a human being and that recording is taking place. This notice is a fixed part of the service and cannot be switched off by the businesses.

After this announcement the conversation is recorded as audio and additionally stored as a written record (transcript); a clear deletion policy applies to both. Details of the data processing are set out in the privacy policy.

3. Labelling of machine-generated content

Transcripts, summaries and structured requests (e. g. recorded callback numbers and appointment requests) are generated by machine and are labelled as such in the dashboard and in e-mail notifications. Machine-generated content may contain errors; material details should be checked before they are relied upon.

4. Human responsibility

The AI assistant does not make binding declarations on behalf of the business concerned. Responsibility for the substance of how recorded requests are handled — confirming appointments, returning calls and giving binding information, for example — lies with the respective business and its staff. The assistant does not replace a human decision; it takes requests and passes them on.

5. No use for training AI models

rylivo does not train AI models on conversation, customer or calendar data. Conversation data, the information provided by the business and data from connected calendars are processed exclusively in order to handle the call in question and the requests arising from it. rylivo does not use this data to create, train or improve general AI or machine learning models, and does not pass it to third parties for that purpose.

For data that rylivo receives through Google interfaces (Google Calendar via the Google Workspace APIs), the following applies in addition: the use of this data – raw, aggregated or derived – is governed by the Google API Services User Data Policy and the Google Workspace API User Data and Developer Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The language model of the phone assistant receives from it only the free time slots computed for the call in question. The full wording is set out in the privacy policy.
